It seems like the bad period has extended to summertime without any break in between. The forums are in absolute chaos since four whole months, and even though I get slandered for useless essays I think this is necessary.
I'm gonna be quite brief here, the forums suck.
The reasons :
- Many users that don't know much about the game are suggesting ideas that obviously won't work (3D...) , and when a more experienced player tells them that it's not a good idea they get mad because... well because they're immature.
- Many users that aren't good at the game are straight up ranting on the forums every single day about the unfairness of the CPUs, about how a track is too thin, has no walls, plays badly... The problem is, they don't understand any slight change would completely affect the game, as we would have to reset TT times, find new strats, new shortcuts, get used to the change... The tracks are the way they are, some are bad I admit, but nobody is forcing you to play them, you can play good custom tracks if you're seeking for quality.
- Many users right now are too defying towards the moderators : technically if you are protesting against a minimod it's justified because they don't have the right to take action on your account, but I've seen a few examples of people being disrespectful to official moderators that are very calm and just doing their job. Some moderators are getting more inactive, due to personal reasons, and some kids are really starting to act like they rule the forum or something. For example, Max once said a chain should stop, and people still kept going, ignoring him. Ignoring me, who honestly butts too much into what is not my business is okay, but ignoring Max, whose job is literally to moderate your immature attitude, is not.

1) Je suis d'accord sur de nombreuses de tes idées , et je ne vais pas énumérer ça car je répèterai ce que j'ai déjà dit sur d'autres topics ( et là arrive un problème )
2) Je ne suis pas d'accord sur le topic en lui-même . Au juste , t'en a fait combien des topics comme celui-ci ? Les idées sont vraiment bien mais tu les répètent et répètent et répètent sur d'innombrables topics où se trouve 5 message dont 2 de 1 ligne si tu vois c'que j'veux dire . Aussi bien , tu l'as dit , beaucoup trop d'utilisateurs spams des messages , mais toi , c'est les topics
Evidemment je ne signalerai jamais un topic qui a bon fond , sauf si cela devient incessant . Pour l'instant ça passe encore je trouve , mais essaies de pas en faire un tout les mois quoi

tu dénonce les mêmes choses avec les mêmes arguments . La seule différence ici à la rigueur c'est les solutions que tu propose qui sont légèrement différentes mais ça ne suffit pas selon moi à créer un nouveau topic à chaque fois .
Puis , tu peux répondre à un seul et même topic plutôt que de faire 1 topic pour 1 message

Des gamins immatures, il y en aura toujours, et des modérateurs inactifs (comme moi hélas 
), il y en aura toujours aussi...
Et, même si tes intentions sont bonnes, je crains que c'est pas en créant ce genre de topics à l'infini que la situation va changer
À ce point, tout ce qu'il y a à faire pour un non-modérateur (à part d'espérer d'avoir plus de modos actifs ou de créer des topics de ce genre) c'est de profiter des bons côtés du site (fanfics sérieuses, évents amusants, lounges, etc.) en ignorant ce qu'il y a de mauvais (forum kids, disputes, immaturités, etc.)
J'écris des épisodes pour mes fanfics de temps en temps en espérant que ça fasse du bien au forum, mais pour modérer le site de manière régulière c'est un peu compliqué pour moi car après je dois être le membre le plus âgé de tout le site (après Wargor) avec mes 20 ans, j'ai une vie difficile avec des problèmes et des responsabilités, je bannis toujours de temps en temps des membres problématiques mais c'est dur pour moi d'en faire plus

Wal has the best response here. Unless people just completely stop joining this won't improve. It's just the way it is. We can handle it.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to stop provoking new members. Even if someone posts a dumb message or creates a stupid topic, you can just ignore it. Stay quiet long enough and the noob will either shut up and act more mature or rage and get banned.Too often people play minimod and absolutely flip out over the dumbest things. The person who set them off gets all defensive, and then gets banned. And then 2 outta 3 times the person who raged apologizes to the community and a week later proceeds to flip out at the next forum kid. Does anybody else see a pattern there? Seriously, we're getting as bad as them. Fix it.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to stop provoking new members. Even if someone posts a dumb message or creates a stupid topic, you can just ignore it. Stay quiet long enough and the noob will either shut up and act more mature or rage and get banned.
Too often people play minimod and absolutely flip out over the dumbest things. The person who set them off gets all defensive, and then gets banned. And then 2 outta 3 times the person who raged apologizes to the community and a week later proceeds to flip out at the next forum kid. Does anybody else see a pattern there? I guess my topics are becoming too repetitive. People usually agree with these topics, but there was a complete 180 degree switch for this one. It's a shame because this time, I brought solutions, and I think this one was clearer than most I have done before.
But I guess people get tired of me always saying that the community is bad. I think I need to just help by little actions or shorter messages because the essays, as shorter as they have gotten, are just not it. They are starting to be badly perceived by both the Discord and MKPC userbases. I even get slandered repeatedly for making these. At this point, I look foolish. So I'll stop.
And if you want my opinions ?
I feel like most people are tired of these essays because the problem with them is that eventually most people start to just delete the notification, so no one actually sees it. They also have seen it never helped. It tries to help, but in reality it doesn't.
What's making me sad ? I feel like I'm improving my behavior, my messages, everything I do on this forum, and yet people seem to set the bar higher. It's like that everywhere. In 2020 I was immature and annoying. In 2021 I was ranting about square tracks and living for the message counter... in 2022 I was confronting people and creating fights because that was the age where I built a personnality... in 2023 I minimodded way more than this. In fact, almost every of my messages, even on matterless subjects, were always long and petty.
But now I :
- am rarely immature
- am pretty rarely annoying
- don't live for the message counter
- don't create fights (I even try to stop them...)
- only minimods once or twice a month at the worst case
And yet it feels like more people find me annoying, petty, rude, or sassy, or something else. In 2022 I barely got backlash for being an immature piece of crap except by a few Discord dudes and this year I am getting more backlash yet being a better person doing better actions?
It really does seem like people always set the bar higher even when you're evolving. It's unfair. You work hard on your flaws, and people tell you they have already set new goals for you. The finish line in Mario Kart doesn't move, this terrible, trashy society should fucking do the same.
