Can someone please explain why that joke turned into a stupid (for lack of a better term in my head) argument?

I posted a joke.
The joke got facepalmed.
I asked why.
I was told because it was dumb.
I asked if they knew it was a joke because jokes are meant to be dumb.
I was told that jokes can be dumb.
I asked if a dumb joke is really facepalm worthy, and said that a Koopa would be more fitting.
I got blown up on.
Apparently the forum is a burning hellscape because I posted a dumb joke.
And you can't even compare it to KirbyBoy because it was just one joke.

Why are you making this such a big deal? Like bro you just got a facepalm reaction it’s not that deep. You say that the koopa face would be more fitting for dumb jokes but thats incorrect, the koopa face is for when someone says something a little outta pocket. Also not all jokes are meant to be dumb and those that are meant to be dumb also have to be funny, which yours is not. Oh and nobody brought up Kirbyboy but you, nobody tried to compare you to him at all. You talk about “forgetting what happened” but you wrote like two other messages after it ended. Also if you’re going to keep grudges against people for something as minor as this then that’s honestly pathetic, all they did was give you a reaction you didn’t like.

Despite the many times I got infuriated with the forums. I have a lot to thank MKPC for. It's what rekindled my love for Mario as a whole, that's not really something I had since I was like 5. I love MKPC on it's own, but what it brought back to me is worth way more.
