You've heard it time and time again, but the Smash Brothers Fanbase is one of the most ungrateful, toxic fanbases ever.
Granted, it's only a portion of the fanbase that I'm ranting about, but a very large one.
Smash Ultimate is officially shown off for the first time, and what do people do? Complain about Waluigi being an assist trophy. The dev team puts their all into making Smash as good a game as possible, and what do they get as thanks? People throwing fits over another swordfighter from a popular series getting in instead of a character from a dead franchise, or even another swordfighter.
And don't even get me started on the FE haters. They act like every fucking FE rep is the same, when only half the FE reps play even somewhat similar. They complain about overrepresentation of Fire Emblem while asking for more Mario and Pokémon reps - series with MORE representation than FE. They base their entire hatred of the FE characters off the series they come from without giving them a chance.
Toxic Smash fans live in a seperate reality from everyone else. They look at Steve, the avatar from the BEST SELLING GAME OF ALL TIME, and call them undeserving. They look at Sora, the most requested character of all time, and say no one wanted them.
And don't even get me started on how disagreeing with a toxic smash fan makes YOU the bad guy, just for having an opinion. What's that? You like Byleth!? Well you're now the enemy of all that's good in the world! You want a character I don't? Well guess what, you're wrong.
The amount of GROWN ADULTS throwing fits over a CHILDRENS PARTY GAME online makes me lose the shred of hope I have for humanity.
