MKDS, MK Wii, Or MK8DX? I think MKWorld is kind of mid, but I love the free roam mode.

Mario Kart Wii was the one I grew up with and it's been my favorite ever since.

I've played all of those games a bit competitively over my life.
When I was ages 5-8 I knew how to do some of the ultra shortcuts for Mario Kart WII Like the Mushroom Gorge one and the easier coconut mall one.
When I was around 10-12 I started playing MKDS Competitly because of a Summoning Salt Vid I watched and am still around the top 500 as of 2/8/2026!
When I was 12 I started playing MK8DX competitvly too. I still do it from time to time just not as much as before.
But between those 3 i would say Mario Kart Wii is the Best because of its nostalgia and then probably Mario Kart 8 Deluxe next then Mario Kart DS.
