You can kind of tell that Nintendo is going for a more cartoony artstyle for Mario games. The characters look like something straight out of Mario RPG or Mario Wonder, but Donkey Kong looks out of place here since he looks more like the Mario Movie than anything else. What do you think?

DK did look goofy but the artstyle for the track shown off feels like my CT Wild Way, but official

It's crazy to me that in the trailer there are 24 racers at once(easiest to see at the starting line with the little markers). Can't imagine how they would (will?) balance it.
I wonder if Nintendo is taking ideas from CTGP-Revolution (Mario kart Wii mod), which has had 24 players in a beta right now for like the past 5 years.
