Adding Music to Custom Tracks

Since I'm new here, I'm going to ask a quick question: Is adding custom/YouTube music only allowed on complete mode courses? I tried to add music for my quick mode courses and want them to play in any challenge/mode, but I think I can only add them for a specific challenge.
