Characters on the map are used to define start positions of players and their direction (double-clic on the image to change direction).
The P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7 and P8 define the position used for when you play with less than 8 players.
For instance, if you play with only 4 participants, players start at position P1, P2, P3 and P4. Note that you control the P1 player.
