When you drift you start moving then hold ctrl in the way you would like to go like left or right. After that you will see smoke at the bottom of your kart. Soon the smoke will turn blue let go of ctrl and you will go a little faster. That is how you drift but make sure that you are at a corner to do it and hold it completely.
