Not to be rude, but have you even seen the Wonder direct? There are tons of new features, not to mention the new artstyle, and the fact that "New" isn't in the title. Wonder is the next big Mario games and a huge step forward for 2D Mario.

The MK8DX DLC is adding new characters + tracks but will sadly be the final wave. I'm assuming that MK9 will come out shortly after MK8DX's wave 6.

MK9 won't come out until the new Nintendo console. There's no way it'll be on the Switch. But if by "shortly" you mean Winter 2024, then yeah
