Tbh no, while that did allow tracks to play somewhat 3D, having the ability to make something look 3D is way more 3D, and besides, outside of arenas wall heights and elevator just aren't that useful anyway, unless your purpose is to prevent exploration

If I'm correct, walls and terrain could possibly be 3D like in MKDS, but elevation would basically be impossible to replicate visually due to the position of the player.
