It’s crazy how I keep on thinking of plot elements later in the story but I can’t find a way to make the first episode not full of filler

Episode 1: The Envelope in the Locker
We arrived in the year 5,000,020,023. A warp pipe was there before us, and curiosity got the best of us, but we could have never known what tragedies would’ve happened. We all booked into a hotel.
Fiery: Alright, so I’ve watched the news and it said that The Sun is gone.
They didn’t give a lot of details but that’s pretty bad.
Cringeh: It said something about an explosion. We should check the laboratory.
*At the labaratory*
The laboratory was worn down, doors were busted down and this seemed to not be cleaned until forever.
Lely: This place has definitely seen better days
Nudge: I found an envelope in this locker
Fiery: Let’s get back to the hotel and tell the others what we found
