I love Christmas, but MY GOD, the music has no variety.
I work Tuesday and Thursday evenings at a grocery store, and they recently put on a Christmas station as expected. It was fine for 40 minutes, then every other song was another version of a song I had already heard. The worst offender? When I walked into the store on Tuesday, they were playing the most awful rendition of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. I was relieved when it was over, but then at 6:50 (pm) they played that exact same cover again. AND THEN THE JACKSON 5 VERSION 10 MINUTES LATER!
I remember being a kid and watching all those cheesy holiday specials of my favorite TV shows. I'm talking Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas, Heartswarming Eve, that Fresh Beat Band episode where everyone's turned into a toy. Were they corny because they were made for kids? Of course! But did they have original songs that were bangers? Definitely. You know you're doing bad when I'd rather watch these shows at 16 instead of listening to Sirius XM.

I like the songs themselves, but I just feel like everyone's capitalizing on covers instead of writing their own stuff. Turn on any Christmas radio station for 4-8 hours, and you'll know what I mean.

Thankfully, we don't here this one much here. The local songs/old ones get played more. The same way people here eat nothing but chicken 24/7, we want calypso/soca 24/7. Just because they cover topics that are more relevant/accurate.
Also, our artists are just normal ass people who live normal ass lives, unlike most who use drugs/off themselves/get caught up in infinite dramas.
