Handling is kinda the only stat in this game that does anything.
Speed - Only relevant for time trials on a few specific tracks, otherwise overridden by RD
Acceleration - Same as speed
Weight - Not worth playing the worst characters in the game

not really, i have a character with max handling, minimum speed, weight and acceleration... and it still works just as well as daisy for reverse drifting... unless you get hit by a item... then thats just a skill issue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I used to ignore handling but now I can't go back. Makes snaking easier and I don't feel like I'm wrestling the kart.

If you're using a custom character, make sure to give them Daisy's stats, as she's the best in the game.
