You don't just sacrifice mini turbo for items, you sacrifice EVERYTHING for items. Worse stats across the board. From 1 mushroom karts to 2, the difference isn't so bad, hence why standard karts are used occasionally for 1 lap records. But it's so much clearer when you go from 2 to 3, and you lose so much time from it. Don't ever use the 3 shroomers
