Alternatives to Mario Kart

There are many kart racers, and the most well known is Mario kart.

But sometimes, you encounter a game that is very similar to Mario kart, but it's a "rip off" with another character, like Sonic or Kirby.

The question is: what kart racers you played that isn't Mario kart? If yes and if you played more than 1, which one was your favourite?

and a few arcade games I can't remember the name of

Out of all of those, Sonic Racing Crossworlds is definitely my favorite.
