I've just learned something about rails where, if you hold a direction, and THEN press the hop button, then you launch yourself to the direction you pressed, however, if you press the hop button and THEN press the direction you want to move in, it does a little movement sideways and needs to be held down to keep the momentum. This fact could be used to shorten the world record even more.
