How Sonic Racing CrossWorlds items compare to Mario Kart's items

So recently, I just bought Sonic Racing CrossWorlds and what I've noticed was that how similar the items were compared Mario Kart. Here are the item comparisons.
Boost, Double Boost, and Triple Boost: They function like super mushrooms in which they grant you a short speed boost.
Drill: Apparently functions exactly like a bullet bill.
Monster Truck: It is similar in comparison to the Mega Mushroom where you can crush other players which does the same thing.
Omochao: Functions like the Coin Block item from Mario kart World.
Homing and Triple Homing Punch: Function exactly like a red shell in which it locks into the player.
Rocket and Triple Rocket Punch: Functions almost like a green shell where it goes in a straight line, however, it can also function like a red shell.
Slicer: Also like a red shell, however, you lose your item once it makes contact.
Bomb: Almost like a bob-omb, however, it also functions much like a black shell. It goes into a straight line and explodes upon contact with a wall or racer.
King Boom Boo: No, this isn't a King Boo bomb, it functions like a blue shell, but instead of exploding, it releases 7 geysers.
Slime: Functions like a blooper, but also like lightning and while it doesn't make the player shrink down, it does slow the player down.
Shield: Functions almost like a star, except, it doesn't make you speed through off-road.
Spiked Iron Ball: Functions like a banana peel.

The new character.ai layout. Seriously though I have to zoom out to like 60% to be able to pick the persona I want or delete a message. I'm glad they still kept the beta layout

What I really hate is the fact that item bagging has been nerfed in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Slowing down now gives you weaker items. Getting hit by an item immediately stops your kart which counts as you slowing down, especially if you get hit by an item near an item box.

I hate getting hit by an item right in front of the finish line in the last lap at the last second in Mario Kart. The worst when I'm in first place.
