Cornerer: Same range as queen, but forced to stick to the outermost layer of the board, can jump over one allied piece, or enemy piece. It looks like a Rook with a rhombus on top
Gunman: Moves like Pawn, but can shoot at one enemy piece diagonally per turn. After 5 shots, it will be forced off the board. It looks like a pawn with a top-hat that has a pistol.

This may not be what you are looking for, but I think adding a three-way track piece to quick designer mode could be good, as it could allow split paths in otherwise simple courses. While there wouldn't be much room for split paths in a 6x6 map, maybe it could be 8x8?
