I know earlier I said that I got a new best run with it, but after using it so much I now see why its a big issue. in Mario kart you are not able to have 100% max manueverability for this exact reason. It makes simple tracks far too easy for many players and its hard for beginners to get into online when they constantly have to fight reverse drifters. this reminds me, despite what is commonly said reverse drifting is not hard. all you need to do is change your settings so that 3 fingers are available for your right hand so you can press drift and accelerate at the same time while pressing reverse and all it takes is a few hours to get a feel for it. I am a day two player and I was able to get a top 100 run under Mario circuit in 1 day with the strategy. that definitely is not impressive but it just goes to show how easy it makes the game
I disagree. First of all, Wargor has said that even though it wasn't intended (I don't think) it's going to stay in the game as a feature. Second, it might be relatively easy to learn (or very easy with your controls method) but it is pretty hard to master. I'm still at the stage with RD that I can do it but not very well, to the point where snaking is faster. While I agree it makes online hard for new players, there's not much of an online playerbase anyway and those new players can just learn RD too

It's actually not removed, unlike the Blue Shell, the Dark Shell goes for the Fella in the back instead of the front.
To clarify, it's removed from the default item selection. To get it, you have to click "Import/Export", then "Import", and then type in "darkshell". Sadly, these buttons are only found within the custom item distribution menu and thus the Dark Shell is gone from Grand Prix

I have some ideas:
Least Favorite Super Mario Game
Least Favorite Track in MKW
Least Favorite Color
I feel like with either of the first two it would result in a much longer tournament but that's what I was kinda considering doing anyway

Alright first of all I'm earlier than usual but that's because I'm going on a 9 hour plane ride today lol and will not be online later so
