I don't know why that exists but it's here now!
After some quick testing, it's only faster to do it on the last lap. The actual respawn saves about a bit over a second as opposed to going around, but then you lose speed from not having the trick boost active upon landing (and crossing the line), plus waiting to respawn.

There's a bug : before the last turn there's a jump. JUmp to the OOB and that counts a lap
