SBOK7 Gritty Fortress
king mario's sprite is taken from MKPC itself
This track is a single-loop romp through the Bob-Omb Galaxy desert, broken up by segments where you'll race through a castle of a bygone age, newly revamped to be mostly livable. After a skip and a hop through the dining hall, you'll find yourself in an oasis. Jump the river and voila - a town! It's mostly inhabited by mice, and so is the rest of the castle, save for a few Toads as guards. Pass by and you'll find yourself back in the same Gritty Fortress. Yet another graceful leap over the stream leads you straight into a cave, used as the castle's dungeon. Many wrongdoers have been imprisoned here for their crimes. You might even see a few familiar faces! Done with that intermission, it's a straight shot up to the Throne Room, where you WOULD find the King, but due to this keep's archaic status, there is no monarch. So Mario has offered to fill the role, though he doesn't exactly take his job seriously. And that's a wrap for your trip through one of the Bob-Omb Galaxy desert's premier attractions. But why not do a little exploring? There's rumours going around, of a bandit escaping the dungeon, of a magician, lurking behind a veil of crates, plotting to overthrow the King and return the Gritty Fortress to its glory of yore. And, um, silly thought, but... what if there's something still in the microwave in the castle kitchen...? Forget I said anything, it's nothing. Oh and one more thing. There's a little shooting range here for Green Shells, and you might be able to get Challenge Points if you hit all the targets quickly. What do you say? Worth a shot, eh?
